ELLE’S MUSIC BIO

In addition to Elle’s work as an actress, she is also an accomplished vocalist/songwriter with many years of valuable performance experience in both live and studio session work. A student in classical singing (Vaccai studies) she trained with a vocal coach from theRoyalScottishAcademy of Music and Drama before training with celebrity vocal coach Gary Catona in LA.

Possessing a great ear, one of Elle’s vocal strengths is her ability to harmonize and blend. This has been grounded in many years experience both as lead and back up singer (in live and studio session work) while her extensive training has given her voice strength and endurance.

Joining her first pop band as a backing vocalist, Elle toured Britain and Europe and performed in the Ballerup Music Festival (Denmark) and was featured on MTV. In the UK, Elle was lead vocalist with various bands and performed on stage with Travis, Seal, The Pearlfishers and Australian artist Natalie Imbruglia. Hosting her own segment on a popular BBC Radio 1 breakfast show, she talked about her experiences as a teenager pursuing a career in the recording industry. At this time she was cast in a BBC pilot based on the girl band phenomenon.

Gaining invaluable performing experience and exposure provided the impetus to pursue her dream of writing and performing her own material. With this in mind, she taught herself to play guitar and piano which she used as song writing tools and tentatively wrote her first tracks. Elle spent six months in the studio developing her material, recorded her first demo and performed some live acoustic sets which received airplay on BBC Radio 1.

Elle’s last project before moving to LA was with record label Wild Biscuit Music. She sang lead vocals on the track “Wild Thyme” for their debut album and the single (a remixed dance version of the popular Scottish folk classic “Wild Mountain Thyme”) was released in the UK and received significant radio and club airplay.

Elle’s composition for film includes the eighty-five minute score for film ‘Honeyrun’ which was screened on the festival circuit. Her music and singing work for film continued with the recent composition and score for the soundtrack of short “The Boogie” which was screened at the Extreme Film Makers Festival in Raleigh Studios, Hollywood. In conjunction with writing and performing her own material, Elle also works as a session vocalist for various Los Angeles studios. Working alongside Grammy and Clio award winning producers, her catalog includes commercials and radio jingles for Olympus, Nike and Chevrolet.

Current music projects include lead vocals for the score on the animated children’s series ‘Tiny Oaks’ written by two time Oscar winning composer Richard Sherman, a song on the compilation album “Independently Speaking” which features tracks by members of multi platinum, Grammy award winning bands Dru Hill and Az Yet and a Hasbro studio project for “My Little Pony”.

Elle is currently writing and recording material in the studio.
